Does a phone scan really work?

Yes. You take two photos with your phone and a sheet of paper, and the scan measures the length, width and instep height of both feet. We match length and width to every boot we rank, and instep height wherever the maker publishes a volume tier, not to your shoe size.

Do I need an account?

Not to start. You answer the questions and scan without signing up. To see your full list of matches you create a free account, so your report is saved.

Do you sell boots?

No. Wayfinder is independent. We link you to Backcountry to buy, and if you buy through our link we may earn a small commission. It never changes how boots are ranked.

What if I have wide feet?

Your scan measures the width of each foot. Your report shows how each boot's width compares to your foot, and flags when a professional fitting is the better route.
